One More Day.....

Okay.....I've been a little lax about blogging, but hey.....I'm on vacation! Tuesday & Wednesday were filled with non-exciting events, but enjoyable. Tuesday started with Mama and Ty playing air hockey and in the sandpit. We then went to Laguna Beach for lunch and played in the playground with the view of the ocean in the background. We just kinda relaxed and hung out in our villa for the day then headed to the Irvine Spectrum for the evening. The highlight, of course, was riding the carousel and ferris wheel. Actually, my highlight was not the Ferris Wheel or Shelby's for that matter. Kinda scary. I asked the lady if we could get off early because Shelby was done!

Wednesday......hmmm interesting. Jason had made appointments for us to get our FULL body scans. Whoa, that was fun. :) Actually it was quick and painless and worked out really well. Not sure how much radiation my body got, but it was interesting. Jason and I both found out we have very interesting backs! Last night was spent swimming in the incredibly warm pool and eating sushi. At least Jason and I did. Oh...I forgot to mention our favorite spot, The Shake Shack. We had to stop there!
Today we are on our way to Disneyland for Tylers Bday! Yipeee! I'm sure I'll have some fun pics for you all. I'll be seeing a lot of you at Ty's party on Saturday. Can't wait! Love to all.

Our 2nd Day.....

Okay...I'm trying to be so good at staying on top of this blogging. :) We had another great day in the O.C. Well, it might have actually not been in the O.C., but it was at Legoland none the less. Yes, we went today despite Tyler's suggestion to go tomorrow. Fortunately, Mama looked at the calendar online and they are closed tomorrow. It was a great day. Lots of rides and a little lego building. Some of the faces Ty made while riding the roller coasters were priceless, but because there were no lines, he would get off the ride and ask to go again. To our surprise!

Besides all that....Jason had taken the kiddos on a local bicycle rally on Saturday while I attended an all day MOPS meeting at church. The Signal, our local newspaper, happened to be there and got the cutest shot of Ty. I thought I would share the link for you to see:
Okay...lastly...I had to add these bottom pics. Blackmail for me later! Shelby, on the way back from Legoland, couldn't find her paci, so she sucked on her big toe!

Tomorrow will probable be our "hang out" day. It would start off wonderfully to sleep in, but I guess that will be the vacation with just Jason and I. :)

The 1st Day of our Vacation in the O.C.

Well, we had a great 1st day today in Newport Beach. The sun came out for the first time in a couple of days and the room we received has a gorgeous view of the ocean. We love this place! Tonight we took the shuttle down to the ocean and played until sunset.

Shelby had a great appetizer of sand. So opposite of how Ty was. Tyler enjoyed finding hermit crabs and digging holes. We then came back and Jason grilled some steaks. This is living! Our plan was to go to LegoLand tomorrow, but Ty said no. He knows exactly what he wants. He said he wants to just hang around here and then go there on Tuesday. So, I guess we'll do just that. :) Disneyland is planned for his bday on Thursday. I'll update more as our week goes a long.

I also wanted to update you all on my back. Thank the Lord, I am so much better. The first two weeks were definitely filled with healing with a lot of couch time, but it worked. I saw the Dr and she believes it is a muscle issue, not a herniated disc. This is good news. I will begin physical therapy on 2/2 and after 6 sessions she will assess it again. I'm very thankful for my progress. Thanks for the prayers.

Hope all is well with those we love.....we'll be in touch.

Beginning a New Year

Happy 2009 to all! I've only written or typed that number a few times, so it seems so weird. All the decorations are put away and the business of preschool, Awanas, etc. has begun. No more staying in our pajamas until noon. :)

It's good to get back in the routine, but the Lord did that in an interesting way for us. On Monday, after having back pain for a few days, I began having back spasms. Not sure if any of you can relate to them, but not fun. Looking back on how that day went I can see Gods hand in it all. My back was hurting while I was playing on the computer, so I decided to walk to the mailbox and stretch. Well, I made it as far as the end of our driveway and I had to lay down in the middle of it. I just pretended I was fine as I knew that one of my best friends, Carli, would be bringing home Tyler from preschool at any moment. Fortunately, that is exactly what happened, but for whatever reason, she had her mom with her too. So, Carli found the right pressure point in my back to stop the spasms long enough for me to get in the house and her mom was able to take care of the kiddos.

We came to the conclusion that I would not make it in a car ride. So, we called the ambulance. Very weird seeing men in the same uniform as my hubby in my house. :) They responded amazingly fast. My parents took care of Ty and Shelby and Carli and I were off to the hospital. Jason left work and met us there. Long story short.....they believe I have a herniated disc. The cure is bed rest, some walking, and patience! The last one is the hardest.

I have to admit that the first day was nice just resting and watching TV, but I quickly became ready to get back to my normal routines. I have a feeling that will be a while from now.

Today is Wednesday and I feel slightly better. I'm being a good patient and am basically in bed all day except to go potty. Jason and I both said this morning, "I wonder what lesson we are to learn from this". Not completely sure of that answer yet, but no there is an answer.

So, for those of you that have known and are praying, bringing us meals, and calling to check on me.....Thank you and we love you.

On a happier note....Shelby turned 1 on Friday. Yippee! We had a fun little party at my parents with a "daisy" cake and opened a few presents. She has already learned the technique of giving her baby a bottle. We will celebrate more at Ty's Bday party later this month.

Ty is as happy as ever. Loves being back at school and just keeps coming to me and hugging and kissing me while I'm laying down. I guess we've done something right in raising him so far. :)

Please pray for Jason. He is everything to us in the family right now. Cook, cleaner, nurse, daddy, etc..... A lot for one person. He will be off work until next Wednesday. I should be moving by then.

Love to you all and happy new year!

Merry Christmas!
