A Lesson From Habakkuk
Hi Everyone, Jason and I went to church on Sunday and heard a great sermon. One I wanted to share with everyone because I know we can all benefit. It was so great to hear that God wants us to ask Him the tough questions on our mind. I hope this touches you like it touched us, just click below:

A Reason to Laugh!
Oh, it's been so long!!! I'm so sorry for not updating you all on our lives this summer. We've just been busy bees. I promise to update soon, but something happened that was quite funny this morning and I had to share!
You are probable wondering why there is a $1 bill on my blog. Well, here it is:
We've been awaiting my parents visiting tonight. So, Grammie & Papa have been on the kids minds this morning. So, we go to breakfast at Egg Plantation, yummo, and start heading for church. On Friday, Nana, gave each of the kids a $1 bill to have. Shelby happened to be holding hers, in front of her, in her car seat. The kids are making noise, as they usually do. Shelby just keeps saying, "Papa, Papa, Papa". So, I look back at her, and she is staring at George Washington, saying "Papa, Papa, Papa"!!! Oh my word! I can't tell you at how we laughed. She thought he was Papa!!
Of course, I can share this because their Papa, David, has a sense of humor. Bruce, their other Papa, I'm giving you grace and assuming she wasn't talking about you. Ha! Ha!

Yosemite
Okay.....I feel like a proud parent, but this time I'm actually a proud daughter! My parents have put a lot of love into their business. Most of you know they own a Bed & Breakfast right outside the gates of Yosemite. They also rent out their Ford Model A & Model T cars to view the valley topless. :) Clean thoughts, y'all. Anyway....they've had many stories done about their love for years, but I thought I would share the most recent with you. It will be published this Sunday in the L.A. Times Travel Section, but it's also online. Hope you enjoy what they love so much. Maybe you all should plan some time to visit and see God's beauty. Here's the link to the article as well as their Inn's website:

Celebrating Grandma Rachel
On Sunday Jason's Granmother, Rachel, went to be with the Lord. Her passing was quite sudden, but as people get older seems to become eminent. No matter what, it's never easy. One amazing blessing is that Carol, Jason's mom, happened to be out here on vacation with us. I'm still amazed at how that worked out. God is good. So, the kids, Jason, and I are now in Hemet and we will Celebrate her life with the family today. She was loved by so many.
Below is a scripture that was added to a memory album created for her. She loved the Lord and knew he was "preparing a place for her".
Jesus said to his disciples: 'Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going.' Thomas said to him, 'Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?' Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'John 14.1-6

Our life when Jason is away.....
Hi All! Well, Jason has been at work since Monday a.m. and the kids have definitely been "kids". Wow, I am learning every day how Ty & Shelby have such different personalities! Even at 16 months I can see how different their traits are.

Our Baby is 16 months old today!
I know, I know, 16 months is not really a "milestone" Birthday, but today is the day I declare that Shelby can walk!! Yippeee. It's official. She actually prefers to walk rather than crawl. It's amazing what can happen in just a week. My poor mom had been working with Shelby all winter, and as soon as she leaves for Fish Camp, it happens. :) Ty keeps yelling at me, "Mama, mama, Shelby is walking!". Hurry home daddy......she wants to show you her stuff.

About time for an update......
Goodness...I've just been to busy with many of my favorite people to take time to type all of my thoughts and happenings out. March & April have brought so many wonderful times and I'm so thankful that my love tank is so full.
Beginning in March, we had the honor of celebrating Grandpa Bunn on his 90th Birthday! I hope that is a reflection of Jasons life span! Great party Bunns. Carli and I then headed to Kingsburg to kick off a great two weeks in Shaila's life with her Bridal Shower. What a gorgeous day the Lord gave us. It was filled with lots of yummy food and laughter to burn some of it off!
April was kicked off by our annual camping trip with my side of the family. We headed for Morro Bay this year. Great weather and great company. We had so much fun, but came home and put the trailer up for sale!! No reflection on our company, just too much work right now. Gees, can someone just head me towards a resort in the future! I'm not ashamed of it, either. LOL. We just really enjoy great pools and someone else cleaning up. Anyone in a market for a trailer??!
A few days after we got back one of my best friends, Jenni, flew in from Austin with her two girls to kick off the wedding events! We all headed towards Kingsburg and began our duties of cooking, cleaning, decorating, and relishing in the blessings of friendships that have been through a lot, but will always be steadfast. So much laughter and singing. Thanks girls for the memories and congratulations Shaila Brandon! A true testament to Gods Faithfulness and love for His children.
We enjoyed a fabulous Easter with a great service, then a wonderful relaxing day. It was my Birthday too, which made it doubly special. Jenni, Carli, Nana, my Mom, and all are kids went to the park to play and decorate and hide eggs with the kids. My bffs surprised me with a yummy chocolate cake! After eating cake :), my family went to have a wonderful steak dinner prepared by my mom. What a sweet ending to a day.
We are now getting set to start T-Ball on Saturday with Tyler and winding down the year of MOPS. Many fun times to be had. I must add, I feel so blessed, even more than normal, for the teaching of the Word lately at church. It is such an awesome thing to anxiously await every weekend to learn more and more about God. What an awesome place He has put Jason and I.

Well......Jason and I thought it was about time to introduce the NEW member of the family:
Jason's mid-life crisis, a 1965 Chevy Cheville. Just kidding about the mid-life crisis, he said I could say it. Ha, ha! He has always wanted a muscle car and finally made his dream come true this past week. He found it on Ebay, Ty and him went to San Francisco to see it, then he and I took a weekend away and went to get it. Last Sunday we drove it down Highway 1. We had so much fun! It's so fun to see him having a ball with it. Ty's pretty into it too. You can call or email him for more info, but we wanted to at least introduce it. :)

What to do??
Just thought I would write all these conflicting feelings I have. Isn't it true once you write things down you feel much more rational about your decisions? You know, doing pros & cons? Anyway, I've been struggling inside for the past few weeks about what to do regarding Tyler's schooling next year. I just want to make sure that our decisions are based on him and not based upon anything selfish. Meaning wanting him with me more or maybe wanting more time free. It could go both ways.
There are so many options and with having the privilege of Co-leading MOPS next year I know my time will be much more stretched. Hence, now begins my life of choosing between all the activities that face us as our kids get bigger.
So far, the only answer I have come up with is, "God will reveal it to me". So, I'm going to devote my time in the word and in prayer and look for any signs of answers.
Ok, I feel a little better now that it written. Sorry for the rambling. :)

This is how we enjoy snow in Southern California
Ok....I know, I know....it's crazy, but this is how we play in the snow in our town. How do you guys do it?? LOL. Actually, it was kind of ideal. Walk a block or so, play in the snow but don't get too cold, and then walk home. I know you are all jealous! hee-hee

Things a child says....
Hi All! Our health is finally returning to us and we are beginning our normal routines around here. This is just a short little post, but I had to share two things Ty said today that just gave me an extra reason to smile.
We decided to go for walk at a time where it was sunny, but a few rain clouds were hanging around. About 3/4 of the way it started sprinkling, then raining, then hailing! I was running and pushing the stroller, Ty was riding on his bike as fast as he could, poor Jason had to walk so he didn't pull his stitches open. Poor guy. We were drenched. When we got in the garage Ty peered up at me with this questionable face, "Mama, why is their ice falling on me?". That started a fun little discussion.
Jason and I have really been trying to implement more fresh foods into all of our diets. So, I bought celery the other day. Well, at lunch today I gave Ty some with Peanut Butter in it. He loved it, to my surprise. Well, as I tucked him in tonight I began our nightly prayer. He quickly interrupted me to say, "Mama, what was that green stuff we ate today? Celery Ty. Oh ya, God thanks for the celry (that's how he says it) and peanut butter today". Oh how I wish I could remember to thank God for the simple things in life too.

Can I laugh yet??
Well.....the drama of the Bunn's just continues. My title of this post is, "Can I laugh yet??". So true to my thinking. A lot of you already know, but Jason was admitted into Henry Mayo last night and proceeded to have an emergency appendectomy at midnight. The surgery went as planned and they were able to take care of it laproscopically. So much better than making an incision. He is in a little pain and very frustrated at the noise and interruptions of the staff, but thankfully is healing. He should be released tomorrow. We're very excited to have him come home, but hope that he can rest here too!
If the timing could be good, I guess it was. We had a wonderful vacation in the O.C. and ended it with a bang at Ty & Shelby's Birthday party. We loved seeing so many of you and were so thankful for the gorgeous day the Lord gave us.
This year has brought many opportunities for us to appreciate those who love us and can't believe Gods timing in having my parents move here. I told them yesterday that they either jinxed us or God truly had a plan for us these past few months. I would like to, once again, thank them for helping us through our health battles. As well as some great friends, you know who you are.
I once again am reminded of my favorite verse, Phil 4:6, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." I cannot fathom not having this peace that God provides. I truly feel that He has taken all my worries and I've really been able to focus on the kids and the week ahead with Jason healing. No worries, God is always in control.

The 1st Day of our Vacation in the O.C.
Well, we had a great 1st day today in Newport Beach. The sun came out for the first time in a couple of days and the room we received has a gorgeous view of the ocean. We love this place! Tonight we took the shuttle down to the ocean and played until sunset.

Beginning a New Year
Happy 2009 to all! I've only written or typed that number a few times, so it seems so weird. All the decorations are put away and the business of preschool, Awanas, etc. has begun. No more staying in our pajamas until noon. :)
It's good to get back in the routine, but the Lord did that in an interesting way for us. On Monday, after having back pain for a few days, I began having back spasms. Not sure if any of you can relate to them, but not fun. Looking back on how that day went I can see Gods hand in it all. My back was hurting while I was playing on the computer, so I decided to walk to the mailbox and stretch. Well, I made it as far as the end of our driveway and I had to lay down in the middle of it. I just pretended I was fine as I knew that one of my best friends, Carli, would be bringing home Tyler from preschool at any moment. Fortunately, that is exactly what happened, but for whatever reason, she had her mom with her too. So, Carli found the right pressure point in my back to stop the spasms long enough for me to get in the house and her mom was able to take care of the kiddos.
We came to the conclusion that I would not make it in a car ride. So, we called the ambulance. Very weird seeing men in the same uniform as my hubby in my house. :) They responded amazingly fast. My parents took care of Ty and Shelby and Carli and I were off to the hospital. Jason left work and met us there. Long story short.....they believe I have a herniated disc. The cure is bed rest, some walking, and patience! The last one is the hardest.
I have to admit that the first day was nice just resting and watching TV, but I quickly became ready to get back to my normal routines. I have a feeling that will be a while from now.
Today is Wednesday and I feel slightly better. I'm being a good patient and am basically in bed all day except to go potty. Jason and I both said this morning, "I wonder what lesson we are to learn from this". Not completely sure of that answer yet, but no there is an answer.
So, for those of you that have known and are praying, bringing us meals, and calling to check on me.....Thank you and we love you.
On a happier note....Shelby turned 1 on Friday. Yippee! We had a fun little party at my parents with a "daisy" cake and opened a few presents. She has already learned the technique of giving her baby a bottle. We will celebrate more at Ty's Bday party later this month.
Ty is as happy as ever. Loves being back at school and just keeps coming to me and hugging and kissing me while I'm laying down. I guess we've done something right in raising him so far. :)
Please pray for Jason. He is everything to us in the family right now. Cook, cleaner, nurse, daddy, etc..... A lot for one person. He will be off work until next Wednesday. I should be moving by then.
Love to you all and happy new year!
