A Reason to Laugh!

Oh, it's been so long!!! I'm so sorry for not updating you all on our lives this summer. We've just been busy bees. I promise to update soon, but something happened that was quite funny this morning and I had to share!

You are probable wondering why there is a $1 bill on my blog. Well, here it is:

We've been awaiting my parents visiting tonight. So, Grammie & Papa have been on the kids minds this morning. So, we go to breakfast at Egg Plantation, yummo, and start heading for church. On Friday, Nana, gave each of the kids a $1 bill to have. Shelby happened to be holding hers, in front of her, in her car seat. The kids are making noise, as they usually do. Shelby just keeps saying, "Papa, Papa, Papa". So, I look back at her, and she is staring at George Washington, saying "Papa, Papa, Papa"!!! Oh my word! I can't tell you at how we laughed. She thought he was Papa!!

Of course, I can share this because their Papa, David, has a sense of humor. Bruce, their other Papa, I'm giving you grace and assuming she wasn't talking about you. Ha! Ha!

Yosemite

Okay.....I feel like a proud parent, but this time I'm actually a proud daughter! My parents have put a lot of love into their business. Most of you know they own a Bed & Breakfast right outside the gates of Yosemite. They also rent out their Ford Model A & Model T cars to view the valley topless. :) Clean thoughts, y'all. Anyway....they've had many stories done about their love for years, but I thought I would share the most recent with you. It will be published this Sunday in the L.A. Times Travel Section, but it's also online. Hope you enjoy what they love so much. Maybe you all should plan some time to visit and see God's beauty. Here's the link to the article as well as their Inn's website:

Hume Lake

Hume Lake has GOT to be Heaven on Earth, if there is such a thing. :) We have been fortunate enough to stay in an awesome cabin here since Friday. Where else can you be in a gorgeous place, that smells wonderful, learn about God, your kids can go to daycamp for 5 hours a day, and have a great family time??! Huckleberry House is the best thing since chocolate, for the kids and us. We've been spying on them every once in a while.....they've been watching the Jr. Highers do the blob, play duck duck goose, and play in the HUGE sand pit. We've also been able to spy on Tyler be a great big brother to Shelby. Helping lead her the right way when no one else was watching. He has such an inbred way of loving her. It's precious. The Broyles were able to join us for the first few days, so Ty was able to have some great play time and we were able to have some adult time. We explored the Boyden Caves and had the famous Hume Shakes. :)
The highlight today....FISHING! Yipeee! Ty and I took off on our own while Jason and Shelby rested. We actually caught a fish too! Ty reeled it in. We tried to save the poor baby, but no luck. Ty was so excited to get back to the cabin to show Daddy.

We are now off to the Ark to play some fooseball and roller skate. Love to all and wish you were here!!

Celebrating Grandma Rachel

On Sunday Jason's Granmother, Rachel, went to be with the Lord. Her passing was quite sudden, but as people get older seems to become eminent. No matter what, it's never easy. One amazing blessing is that Carol, Jason's mom, happened to be out here on vacation with us. I'm still amazed at how that worked out. God is good. So, the kids, Jason, and I are now in Hemet and we will Celebrate her life with the family today. She was loved by so many.

Below is a scripture that was added to a memory album created for her. She loved the Lord and knew he was "preparing a place for her".

Jesus said to his disciples: 'Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going.' Thomas said to him, 'Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?' Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'John 14.1-6

Our life when Jason is away.....

Hi All! Well, Jason has been at work since Monday a.m. and the kids have definitely been "kids". Wow, I am learning every day how Ty & Shelby have such different personalities! Even at 16 months I can see how different their traits are.

Lets see.....in the past 3 days, I've found Tyler trying to put his 18month doggy Halloween costume on, which he didn't even get his leg in, and Shelby has climbed on top of the bathroom counter, up the oven using the broiler handle, gotten into all our night stand drawers (while I was showering), and stolen cookies from the pantry! Seriously during all these events my eyes were off of them for seconds! Shelby is fast and intentional. My guess is she'll be climbing out of her crib within 3 more months. We'll see if I'm right. Ty and I decided to put Shelby in his doggy costume and he wore his 2T Tiger costume (still way too small).

Other than chasing her and keeping Ty busy with crafts, T-ball, etc. not much to report. I had a wonderful Mother's Day that began on Saturday with a manicure/pedicure, then awoke Sunday to a french toast breakfast in bed. So fun!
Jason and I have begun a new workout program, P90X. Some of you may heard of it. It's kicking my BUNNS, but awesome! It's only been 3 days, but I swear I see a difference! HA! At least I can definitely feel something!
I pray you are all healthy and happy and were loved on or loved someone on Mother's Day. Love to all....The Bunn's

Our Baby is 16 months old today!

I know, I know, 16 months is not really a "milestone" Birthday, but today is the day I declare that Shelby can walk!! Yippeee. It's official. She actually prefers to walk rather than crawl. It's amazing what can happen in just a week. My poor mom had been working with Shelby all winter, and as soon as she leaves for Fish Camp, it happens. :) Ty keeps yelling at me, "Mama, mama, Shelby is walking!". Hurry home daddy......she wants to show you her stuff.

Merry Christmas!
